Falkirk is gearing up to play host to a brand new music festival. With over 150 musicians playing over the weekend, Falkirk Live! presents a celebration of music with its roots in blues and jazz, but reaches out to cover funk, soul, classical, folk, and indie music.
Eden has played a major role from the outset, creating the original idea and developing a fresh, standout identity for this brand new three-day music event. We came up with Falkirk Live! drawing on the energy and excitement that comes from seeing and being a part of a live music performance.
Our objective was to create a brand identity for the festival which works across all of these genres cohesively. We want the festival to be able to grow and develop in and around Falkirk in future years. The festival’s visual identity and marketing were designed with that firmly in mind.
Roger Spence of Jazz Scotland explains: “Our original plan was to present a jazz and blues festival. But the name Falkirk Live! inspired us and we decided to expand the programme”.
Amongst the many artists scheduled to play are international star Lisa Mills from Mobile, Alabama and veteran big band leader Chris Barber plus Karine Polwart, the award-winning singer-songwriter and traditional musician; the leading Scottish blues band Blues N Trouble; Rose Room, the classy gypsy swing band; soul songstress, Charlotte Marshall; top funk band, James Brown Is Annie; and the young classical guitar star, Sean Shibe, Indigo Velvet, plus many more incredible musicians from around the country.
Our team have been hard at work managing the launch phase for Falkirk Live! producing marketing and promotional materials for the event; design and implementation for the festival website; posters and banners; press advertising; social media feeds and digital banner ads.
Building upon our other work with Jazz Scotland for Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival and other music festivals throughout Scotland, it’s been fantastic to be able to bring this brand new festival to life.
Falkirk Live! gets into full swing from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 October 2016 as a string of exciting performers visit the town. We look forward to seeing you there!
